Help those in Iowa

Donations of gift cards are bening sent to United Way of Central Iowa and United way of East Central Iowa to assist in their recovery efforts for flood victims. Donations for gift cards is a great way to provide localized relief. Drop off points for the cards include: Montgomery Co United Way offices, Market Street and The Woodlands Mall. Youth Track and Field

Participants will practice in Conroe and compete in the Gulf Coast Track Circuit. Most meets are held in the early mornings or early evenings in the Houston area. Practices are twice weekly at a local school. Fee is $50 ($63), ages 6-16. For more information call the Conroe Recreation Center at 936 522 3900

Montgomery County War Memorial Park Fund Drive

The organization adopted the Park in September 2007 and found that it is in great need of repair because it has not been maintained on a consistent basis since it was dedicated 32 years ago. The goal is to raise $60,000 to renovate the sprinkler system, improve the sidewalks, re-establish the flower beds as well as improve the signage and lighting in The Park. The Local Jazzercise franchise has a member who is being treated for AML and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Fundraiser fo East County Caring Neighbors
A nonprofit organization. Their goal is to help struggling families and/or individuals in the area and hold benefits if needed. For 2 years they have provided families with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner plus food for several other meals. In 2 yeras, they have given 26 Christmas Presents they wished for and more. These children were also given new clothes. There will be a raffle, 50/50 Drawing, Scratch off Frame. Fried Fish Plates for $6. Serving begins at 11. Conroe Elks Lodge #2584. Within one month's time the Willingham family lost two members, leaving behind 2 wives and 6 children struggling to make ends meet. Willie Nelson to Host Benefit Concert
Held at Willie's Place at Carl's Corner, the new state-of-the-art truck stop located on Interstate 35 between Dallas and Austin. The private concert is a benefit with a portion of proceeds going to the Freddy Powers Parkinson's Foundation.
