Dodge Ball League

When the only thing at matters is being the last onestanding on the Dodge Ball court. This is "For Fun" only league! Ultra competitive players must chill or stay home. Teams are comprised of six players on the court, three men and three women. Team entry fee includes game official and 1st place teamtrophy($100 a team or $20 per individual). Team registration is encouraged. Individual registration accepted and teams formed with sufficient enrollment. State Fair of Texas

The State Fair takes place in Fair Park. It is a 277-acre city park that is just two miles east of downtown Dallas. General admission is $14.00, and most of the shows and attractions are free once you get inside. Seniors (60 & over) and children ages 3 up to 48-inches-tall pay only $10.00. Admission tickets may be purchased online at bigtex.com beginning Aug. 1. If you are near a Kroger store during the months of September and October, just step up to a checkout and buy a discounted general admission ticket in advance for $12.50. Women's Council of Realtors "Holidays for Hero's" Project Collection Drive

This project will consist of sending 1000 holiday season care packages to our military men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. The goal is to show our military forces that we appreciate the sacrifices they and their families make for the future of our great nation and to remember their valiant efforts. Hunter Safety Course
10 Hour course taught by Emmit Kelly of the Gun Emporium, and is required for all hunters.  It teaches hunting safety skills and responsibility.  Upon completion of the course , the certification is good for life and is recognized in 48 states and 10 Candian Provinces that require hunter education.  The certification card must be carried with you at all times while hunting.  Class is limited to 100 participants.  Must pre-register by Saturday, September 29th.  At the City of Conroe Service Center Training Room (401 Sgt. Ed Holcomb Blvd.) for ages 9 and up, 5-10p, fee of $15.

Raven Repertory - The Actor's Nightmare & Dying City
Sam Houston State Univerity Department of Theater & Dance presents The Actor's Nightmare & Dying City at the University Theater Center Showcase Theater. 2008 Lobsterfest - Conroe
The Greater Conroe /Lake Conroe Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lobsterfest Committee are pleased to announce that 2008 Lobsterfest golfers will be teeing off at Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club. After a relaxing day of golf and dinner, a live and silent auction will be held at the Lone Star Convention Center. Martial Arts Class

At Oscar Johnson Jr. Community Center for all ages. Instructed by North Side Karate III, styles taught inclide Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Free Style Karate, Shotokan and Wing Chung. Sessions are monthly, classes meet Mondays and Thursdays 6:30 for white and non-belts, 7:15 for colores belts. The Cost is $65 for residents and $81 for non-residents. Activities include arts and crafts exhibitors from all over Texas and from other states near and far. Families can come out and spend the day in our Kid’s Area that includes children’s fun rides, Monster Mural, petting zoo, amusements, pony rides, and the Small Fry Stage where young dancers from several local dance and art schools perform.  No need to bring your fishing poles, the Catfish is already on the grill! 2008 Texas Mesquite Association Art Festival

Juried artist from around Texas will gather in Fredercksburg's Marktplatz for a three-day celebration of the exquisite and attractive mesquite. It is FREE and open to the public, Friday noon to 6pm, Saturday10am-6pm, Sunday 10am-4pm. Items are available for purchase, with food and drinks sold on the grounds. The Charles Brown Music Festival

Honoring Texas City native, Charles Brown (Sep. 13, 1922- Jan. 31, 1999). The late great pianist has been heralded as one of the most influential blues artists of the 20th century. Centerville Junior Class is hosting a Haunted Woods for Halloween. Open Saturday at 8pm-midnight. Located the west side of Hwy 39.
